Turn Signals/Emergency Flasher Dont Work

My turn signals and emergency flashers dont work in my 71 superbeetle. The bulbs work - the lights themselves go on, for instance if the headlights are on. The turn signal indicator on the dash just lights up when I activate either directional but the lights dont blink. I replaced the relay under the hood (front trunk), and all the fuses are intact. Any help would be appreciated.

I just happen to be looking into a brake lights not working..and switch, etc. I found a site that has electrical only for VW.

Hello, I am new to this site. I am glad I have found it. I have a simular problem with my 74 super bettle auto stick. NO HEADLIGHTS, All turn signals flash on when turned to right or left. wipers dont work either. I have replace the ignition switch, Electrical part, and have taken out the signal wiper switches to check the wireing. Also I do not know how many relays are to be on the back of the fuse box. There is two that I see. One is the turn signal flasher an the other next to it I have no Idea. There is a jumper wire there too for something.. HELP PLEASE!!!! I need to get this car on the road soon as the car is needed for work. Please direct me to the right person or the right forum on this site...
