VW 1978 exterior visor

Hi folks...I am your newest member. For 3 years, I have owned a 1978 Bus, known as the "champagne Edition II", presented by the factory to boost sales in the US, at that time. She has tinted windows, chrome bumpers & a special paint job( fox red upper & date brown lower body ). Since she has been garaged most of her life ( 176k miles), there are few rust issues, except around the windows(minor). A rebuilt engine was installed at 152k & she is solid. So, 2 years ago I started to do a restoration of her, to my liking. I have a mechanic, here on the Oregon Coast, who has been working on vdubs for the past 30 years & is also doing restoration. For just a brief recall, as I have no interest in selling her at all, we completely insulated her( she is set up as a weekender, with a sofa that turns down) did all the walls & roof in Birch veneer( 8 handrubbed coats ). My mechanic built me 3 cabinets in birch & poplar, we removed the spare from the back & mounted it up front & built/installed a rear cabinet for hanging clothes, etc, put in a "pergo" floor, built a console between the front seats( with an extra heater ) & attached an inverter to run some appliances down the road( also installed an auxiliary battery for the inverter)
Right now she is being prepped for her paint job by the same mechanic & I've also purchased OEM seals for the entire bus. WHEW!! So, by Christmas or the new year, she'll be painted ( fox red on top & Bottom & the area where the windows are, all the way around will be in a metallic 'light' Turquoise.( a color which my wife enjoys ). I've installed some new & neat lights inside & foglights up front on either side of the mounted spare tire & since I'm only going to this expense once, I think the "cats Meow" would be to have an EXTERIOR VISOR across her windshield. I've seen them somewhere in a picture & I believe it was probably plexiglass & tinted in a red shade). So, if there is anyone out there who has an inkling of where I can buy one or have one built, I would be most appreciative. My e-mail is kornyray@peak.org ( from a kettlekorn business I have here at the Farmer's Market) & when ZELDA's all done, I would be proud to post a bunch of pics..
Thank you in advance & everyone have a joyous Christmas, filled with gratitude for what we have.....Ray
