Value of 1979 Westy for Insurance Claim

Postby Roxanne » Fri Jan 29, 2010 4:39 pm

My 1979 VW Westfalia Camper was rear-ended while parked in front of my home. We had started renovation - replaced the tent, propane tank, cosmetics, etc. It has less than 60K miles and I am the original owner and it had never been in an accident. It also was undercoated to prevent rust when I bought it. I am concerned that the insurance company is going to total it and not give me its value. Any suggestions on how I can prove the value so the insurance company does not under estimate it's worth?

Thanks!

I think the only real thing you can do to justify your position is find and document as many similar buses for sale/sold recently and present your case to the insurance company. Good luck with those bastids.
