1973 VW Super Beetle - Autostick Transmission

I have recently purchased a 1973 Super Beetle with Autostick transmission.. However, I am having difficulty getting it go go into gear.... I believe that the vacuum lines that go to the shift control valve are bad and need to be replaced or the shift control valve needs to be replaced..... can anyone offer any suggestions or help?

The book I purchased doesn't go into much detail about the "autostick" transmission so I will take any advice you can offer...

Does anyone know where I can get the vaccum lines or the shift control valve?
