what was i thinking... all this for a truck?

" I want to keep the car", is what I wanted to make the heading read. I have this friend and co worker that has this passion for german cars. I enjoy Fieros. For the last 5 years he has had to listen to me talk up these pontiacs that I work on. One day at work he tells me he owns a couple siroccos. An 86 and an 83. I had to take a look at these VWs. Maybe if he threw both of them together he would have a some what running fun driver. That was 2 years ago and he still doesnt have a running or drivable Sirroco. But they do look cool in his driveway. Well, it finally happened.. he asked for some help in getting one of them up and running. He forgot one thing when it comes to any car. You have to have some sense of mechanical knowledge in order to achieve his goal, or a friend like me that enjoys tinkering on cars. He choose the later.
So, it began this summer.. he hauled over the 83 sirocco and a running 83 rabbit that has been tweeked out for racing. He wanted me to take this bored over 1.8 carbed engine out of the rabbit and throw it into his 83 fuel injected sirocco. I never worked on a VW before but I was up to the challenge. To sweeten the deal, he offers me a dodge dakota pick up. Sounds good to me... with a truck, I can transport bigger Fiero parts!
OH, the sirocco is almost done! And I want to keep it now.

Sweet! Do you have any pictures of it?

I came across another Scirocco fan's web site that's got some pretty cool photos at:
