standard and super beetle length/wheelbase?

So i'm new to this forum and had a few questions that i can't seem to find the answer to.
from what i understand the super beetle has a 1.5in longer wheelbase than the standard beetle, is this correct?
also i've heard that the cargo space in the front is just larger in general?
I don't know if this is frowned upon on this site but i'm planning on doing a v8 bug swap and was just wondering if the extra space on the super beetle is necessary or not.
