Trunk lid stuck!!!What the FU*#!!!

HeyI just got a 69 bug,And thetrunk lid is stuck shut.It wasnt like that when i bought it,i did it one night a couple weeks ago.So i need a little help,How do i go about opening it without destroying my bad ass bug?!?![/b]

sounds like either the spring is too tight. or the cable slipped. have someone pull on the cable while you push down on the hood. try moving in all directions saving lifting up on it till last. as it can make it harder for you if you tug on it. if you have enough gap you may beable to get a 10mm wrench in there and take the two bolts out of the latch and free it to re adjust it. goodluck.
